Heart Lifting Encouragers

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

─ Romans 8:28

Are you an encourager? Who do you go to in your life for inspiration and conversation that stirs you to grow in the Lord and strive to be more? We all need help and encouragement along the way. We face persecution, disappointment and temptations in this fallen world. We need others who will come alongside us, encourage us, speak God’s Word and help us to hold tight to what is good and right.

Paul sent Tychicus, one of his personal representatives and very likely the one who carried Paul’s letter to the Colossian church, specifically to encourage the Colossians’ hearts (Colossians 4:8). Paul was letting them know they could look to Tychicus for the strength and courage they needed.

Sometimes we are tempted to put on a brave face and pretend that everything is wonderful, when in fact we need a heart lift. We are better together, building each other up in faith and strengthening our hearts in love.

Become more willing to open up to other believers you trust. Ask the Lord to show you who He’s placed in your life to encourage you.
