Begin Again in His Resurrection Life

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

─ Philippians 3:13-14 NLT

We’ve all had that sinking feeling in the pit of our stomach when things don’t go the way we anticipated. Perhaps you’re struggling to be the mom that you want to be, or to be the husband you want to be, or to be the person you know God wants you to be. You feel overwhelmed.  Maybe you’re discouraged.  Maybe you’ve had a financial set-back or a physical problem in your life.

Every day God gives each of us is a new beginning. If you’ve accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, your life in Christ is directly connected to the power of God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you (Romans 8:11). His resurrection power is available to you.

If you’re not intentional, you can allow past failures and mistakes to prevent you from experiencing the new God has for you. The Apostle Paul, after saying that He wanted to know Christ and the power of His resurrection, said, “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead” (Philippians 4:14).

God has some incredible things in store for you. He can bring resurrection power into any area of your life that you surrender to Him.

Today’s One Thing

If you want to step into your new beginning with God, you can start today by:

  1. Becoming determined to rely on Him.
  2. Asking Him to work His power in your life.
  3. Putting your trust in His ability to accomplish His promises.
  4. Giving Him the opportunity to bring those things you’ve given up on, back to life.
  5. Expecting Him to help you experience breakthrough in areas you need His resurrection power.
