Holding Tightly to the Healing Hand of Jesus

And all the multitude were seeking to touch Him, for healing power was all the while going forth from Him and curing them all [saving them from severe illnesses or calamities].

Kayla lay in ICU in a medically induced coma following two emergency surgeries. At just thirty years of age, no one expects for someone so young to experience multiple ischemic strokes, even the medical teams, and yet, the diagnosis fell hard on the hearts of her family. Numbness, shock and fear tried to sneak into the hearts of those who refused to let go of her. But they would fight, believe God and see her return to her former self.

During the days of Jesus’ ministry on earth, the news of His healing power spread, and crowds gathered to see the miracles. Many hoped to touch Him and experience physical healing (Luke 6:19). Jesus was not only willing to heal them physically, but also desired to see them experience freedom from death eternally through the new life He offered. Jesus healed them all (Matthew 14:34-36).

For Kayla, healing wasn’t an instant recovery, but each day is another step in her journey toward complete health. She battles back, holding the hand of her Healer every step of the way. She slowly regained the use of her left side in the first year, and halfway into the second year is regaining use of her right side. Each week she and her family celebrate the little miracles. Her journey is not complete, but she holds on and trusts that Jesus will return her completely to health.
