Know More of God through His Word

I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’ calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.

─ Isaiah 46:9-11 ESV

Sometimes there is a struggle in our hearts to know what God’s will is for our lives. It would be so easy if you could go to the Bible, open it up and know exactly what career to choose, who to marry, when to have children, buy a home or a million other things we struggle to decide. God’s will is not vague. It’s all revealed for you in His Word.

God says, “I will” more than 1,900 times in Scripture. The Bible declares, “God said,” or “Thus says the Lord” about 3,800 times.

In our verse today from Isaiah, God is speaking through the prophet Isaiah. God himself declared himself to be God. He wants us to know there are none like Him. Whatever He says, happens. Whatever His will is – it’ll be accomplished. When He speaks something, it happens. He can’t make a promise and then break it. This verse gives us a picture of who God is, what character we can expect from Him. What He says He’ll do, He’ll do; He cannot lie.

To know and live within God’s intentions, you must know and apply the Bible to every life situation.
