Remain Fierce in Faith

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

─ Hebrews 4:16 ESV

The last few months have been hard – for everyone. Meagan had never heard the words shelter in place or even considered what it meant to self-quarantine. But now, she knew. She’d experienced it. As an extrovert, working quietly alone for months at home, she found the silence extremely difficult. But it caused her to consider her priorities. It’s really been a forced sabbatical, she thought.

And she had to admit, she was better for it. She’d spent more time in prayer, evaluating her own relationship with God, praying for the many people she knew, and even those she didn’t, facing so many hardships. She thought about the many without a relationship with God and wondered how they did life without Him.

God is your father. His promise found in the verse today gives you a confidence to approach Him expecting mercy and grace. With assurance and steadfast faith, you can hold on to profound hope and endure in hardships and in persecutions. You remain fierce and strong in a time of stress and possible disaster.

Today’s One Thing

What hardship are you facing today? Reread today’s verse aloud. Call a friend and ask them to agree with you in prayer for you to prove yourself fierce in faith, immovable in your belief to see this thing through with God’s mercy and grace.
