Beyond the Noise

5 Ways Apollo LTD Inspires Peace and Purpose

In a world that often feels overwhelming, with a relentless stream of information and challenges, it’s vital for us as followers of Christ to find ways to navigate these turbulent waters while maintaining our faith and focus. Jordan Phillips and Adam Stark of Apollo LTD shared their insights in a conversation with Family Life Radio, offering a refreshing perspective on how they manage to see Jesus through the noise of today’s world.

Jordan shared, “We talk a lot about, like, what are the battles that we are willing to fight? Like, what are the battles in our house … with my wife and our children that we want to fight, that we feel called to fight and stand up for.”

  1. Wisely choose your battles.

The apostle Paul talks about the body of Christ being made up of many parts, each with its unique role (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). Just as not every part of your body can perform every function, as members of Christ’s body, you cannot and should not try to tackle every issue in the world yourself. This doesn’t mean we turn a blind eye to the world’s problems, but rather that we focus our energy where we feel called and equipped to make a difference.

      2. Lean into the Strength of Community and Prayer

“We weren’t meant to carry that load by ourselves,” Adam says. He and Jordan both participate in a weekly prayer hour at their church, a time for worship, Scripture reading and prayer. “It really does help remind you of the goodness of God and that God’s kingdom is going to be promoted here in the land of the living,” Adam reflects.

The act of coming together in prayer and fellowship is a commandment, and it’s also a source of incredible strength and rejuvenation. In a world that often feels isolating, especially with the “echo chambers” of social media and the constant barrage of negative news, finding a community where we can be reminded of God’s promises and goodness is invaluable.

Jesus promised, “Where two or three have come together in my name, I am there among them” (Matthew 18:20 GW).

Adam continued, “I was reminded this past week of the importance of being in community and speaking truth over each other in community, [as well as] God’s goodness [shared] from other fellow believers.”

      3. Guard Your Wellbeing

Jordan says, “We have so much information hitting us about every terrible thing that’s happening on the planet – it feels like all the time. I don’t think that we have the emotional equity to absorb it all and to feel it all,” Jordan says. “It can become too much.”

This is a struggle many of us can relate to. It’s critical to learn how to filter and to protect your emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Just as we guard our hearts in our personal lives (Proverbs 4:23), we must also guard our hearts against the overwhelming tide of information and negativity that can easily distract and distress us. This doesn’t mean becoming indifferent but finding a balance between staying informed and not letting the information overwhelm us.

      4. Remember God’s goodness.

Amidst the chaos and challenges of the world, it’s easy to lose sight of God’s goodness. “It’s so easy to forget the truth and forget God’s Word,” Adam acknowledges.

This is where the power of community and being rooted in Scripture becomes evident. By regularly engaging in worship, reading the Bible and praying together, we anchor ourselves in the truth of God’s word, which acts as a bulwark against the storms of life.

It’s in these moments of fellowship and connection with God that we are reminded of His faithfulness and love, which can transform our perspective and give us the strength to face whatever comes our way.

      5. Live Your faith in the “Land of the Living”

“God’s kingdom is going to be promoted here in the land of the living,” Adam shares.

Your faith is not just about personal salvation but also about being agents of God’s love and grace in the world.

Whether it’s through music, as in the case of Apollo LTD or through other means, we are all called to contribute to the kingdom in our unique way.

In the midst of the noise, there is a way to stay grounded and focused on who and what truly matters – our relationship with God and our role in His kingdom.
