Anchor Your Soul

Hope is so important! Think of the times you held on to hope –despite really difficult situations—and God came through. Recounting God’s faithfulness in those situations can fuel your faith and infuse your hope for the challenges you are facing today.

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
─ Hebrews 6:19 NLT

Jesus has gone ahead of you to God on your behalf. He is the most dependable friend and sure advocate. He is the One you can count on when things get rough. As a Christ follower, you have an anchor that is always steadfast and sure.

And Hebrews 6:18-20 says, “So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek” (NLT).

Your relationship with Jesus transforms you from within.

The only real Hope in life comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That relationship transforms you from within. With Him as your anchor in life, when storms come your way, you can stay steady even when the waves of circumstances toss you about.

Today’s One Thing
Make a list of a few difficult situations you’ve faced in life where it was clear to you (perhaps not until later) that God intervened to turn things around. If you need some examples, ask this same question on your Facebook wall and gather encouragement from your friends.
