Delight and Encouragement

Great job! You’re the best. You got this. Well done. These phrases are enjoyable to hear and receive, primarily when you have worked hard to overcome obstacles, resolve issues and accomplish an overall purpose or objective.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
─ Psalm 37:4 ESV

The tasks may be at work or home, but encouragement and appreciation are always welcomed in either place. But working hard and accomplishing tasks for the mere acknowledgment will only provide a glimmer of fulfillment. True fulfillment comes when delighting yourself in the Lord. The Lord has placed you in the environment where you work or live for a specific reason. As you seek Him with all your heart and work as if you are working for Him, you’ll discover that your joy comes from pleasing Him.

The Lord delights to see His children receive and offer kind words of encouragement and appreciation.

It is not uncommon to have inner struggles or external hardships. Sometimes encouragement spoken at the right time is just what you need. Yes, it is nice to hear praises when a job is well done. It also pleases the Lord when you offer an encouraging word and reassurance to help another person persevere through a tough situation.

Offer encouraging words verbally, by text or written down – sprinkled with recognition and assurance to your friends, colleagues and family members.

Pray this prayer: Father, thank you for placing me within the environment with opportunities to authentically communicate encouraging and reassuring words to others. Show me who needs encouragement. Give me the words to express and tell me how to communicate them effectively. Thank you, Father. You are the Greatest! Amen.
