Empowered to Exceed the Limits

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

─ 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 NLT

Empowered to Exceed the Limits

Every Christ follower has the power from within to exceed the limits. God’s gift – His wisdom, power, strength, ability and creativity – allows you to experience life on a level far beyond your own expectations and human limitations. God within you is your hope for so much more.

In our Scripture today, the apostle Paul sets a metaphor before us. Our physical bodies are nothing more than jars of clay, but the treasure, our relationship with God, is the secret that sustains us. The strength of God comes from His presence residing within you. As a believer, you are equipped, prepared and powerful.

Your heavenly Father wants to see you go far beyond the limits in every area of your life. You can exceed your current circumstances because you have access to God’s unlimited resources. You are empowered to exceed the limits.

Today’s One Thing

Look honestly at your life. Where have you placed limits on your life. When have you said you won’t ever attain it, or just can’t do it? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you’ve set limits, and then ask Him to help you surpass them.
