Favor from the Lord

“It’s not what you know but who you know.” This saying primarily focuses on the connection a person has with decision-makers. You can see the effects of this saying repeatedly when someone is equally qualified as another candidate for a position, but the other candidate receives the job because they are well connected to a network of individuals or to the one choosing the new hire.

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”

─ Numbers 6:31 ESV

If you have asked Jesus to be the Lord of your life, then you are known and connected to Him. The Lord looks upon you with favor and desires only His best for you. No better candidate exists who can build more robust networks and take your selection away from you. You have favor with God and man because of Christ, not because of your accomplished works or intelligence, but only by accepting Christ as your Savior and choosing to follow Him (Proverbs 3:4). You are known.

You are highly favored by your Heavenly Father!

The Bible is filled with stories and verses to inspire you about finding favor with God. God’s favor does not exempt you from life’s challenges, but those who trust in Him and take refuge will be shielded and protected (Psalm 18:30). It is by His grace you have been saved, and you can live in joyful and challenging times by His guidance and protection.

Perhaps you have experienced His instant protection and favor. Perhaps you were chosen for a position, received a tremendous financial benefit or were protected from a devastating blow. The possibilities are countless, and may not all be known by you, which provides justified reasons to offer praise and thankfulness for His favor and protection.

Today’s One Thing

Pray: Heavenly Father, You are the Creator of all things; you spoke life into existence with Your words. Thank you for sending Your son, Jesus to die on the cross for my sins and become victor over death. Thank you for allowing me to be Your child and a family member. Thank you for knowing me and providing me favor.
