From Jealousy to Blessings

It’s happened to most of us. You’re just scrolling along through social media, and suddenly a wave of envy hits you. Maybe it’s someone’s picture-perfect family, their dream job or even their spiritual journey that makes you feel like you’re falling short. It can feel impossible to shake the little green monster, but God made a way.

I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.

– Psalm 7:17 NIV

The answer – “give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness.” It’s so simple and also so powerful to realize that gratitude has the power to transform our hearts. When you shift your focus from what you don’t have, to what you do have, something incredible happens: jealousy loses its grip, and your heart opens up to the blessings God makes available all around you.

Gratitude leads you to a richer, more fulfilling life in Christ.

So, what’s one thing you’re thankful for? It could be as big as a loving family or as small as a warm cup of coffee. Whatever it is, take a moment to give thanks. Acknowledge it, cherish it and let that gratitude fill your heart.

You can find joy in the blessings you have, rather than longing for what you don’t. As you give thanks, you’ll find that gratitude is more than an emotion; it’s a choice that can lead to a richer, more fulfilling life in Christ.

Today’s One Thing

Say aloud: “Today, I choose to focus on gratitude. I turn away from envy and open my heart to the blessings God has placed in my life. I am thankful for what I have, knowing that it draws me closer to Christ.”
