Getting Personal
“When the gospel becomes personal to you, that’s when it becomes real to you.” Contemporary Christian artist, Matthew West’s words echo something so many of us have felt at some point in our faith journey. It’s one thing to hear that God loves us, and another entirely to experience it deep within our souls.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.
– Psalm 139:17-18 NIV
You are not just another face in the crowd to your Heavenly Father. He sees you, knows you and cherishes you with a love that’s personal and unwavering. Every hardship you face, every tear you shed and every joy you experience, He sees and feels too.
When you begin to internalize this profound love, your perspective shifts.
Just as every grain of sand on a vast beach is unique, so is God’s individual love for each of us. When you begin to internalize this profound love, your perspective shifts. The gospel becomes not just stories from a distant past but living truths that personally speak into your life.
As you start recognizing His love in your everyday life, you’ll find the gospel becoming more real and intimate to you than ever before.
Today’s One Thing
Find a quiet space, be it in your room, garden or a serene spot in nature. Reflect on Matthew West’s quote and the scripture from Psalms. Take a few moments to silently converse with God, asking Him to reveal His personal love for you in tangible ways.
