Give Thanks Because God is Good

There is nothing you can do to make God love you any more or any less.

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!

– Psalm 107:1 ESV

God’s love lasts forever and ever! He is good and if you had no reasons other than that, you should thank Him!

As you look around the world and all that is happening, it is easy to become discouraged and feel out of control. You don’t even have to look around the world; you have concerns right in your own home. God knows. He is near to you and longs to give you peace and joy. He wants you to praise Him and thank Him. He does not NEED your praise. He is God. YOU need to put your eyes and mind on Him, on His goodness and His grace.

When you are thanking God, your mind is focused on Him and His goodness.

Out of God’s goodness, He provides all you need. It may look a bit different than you expect it to look, but His ways are always best. He provides for your needs out of His unchanging love. He does not want you to fret about your concerns. He wants you to give them to Him and thank Him.

Can you think of some things to thank God for today, while embracing His goodness and the knowledge that His love never ends? You can trust Him with all that concerns you.

Today’s One Thing

Read Philippians 4:8 at least five times today. Picture specific things it says to think about. Think about those things. Thank God for them.
