Glory I Couldn’t See with Mike Donehey

Acceptance opens your eyes to what God is doing.

I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.

– Philippians 4:11 ESV

When Christian singer, song writer and author Mike Donehey’s “Farewell Tour” was cancelled due to the pandemic, he found himself frustrated. He thought he was honoring God and his bandmates with this tour and now it was not going to happen.

As he struggled with this, he began to realize his need to say, “Yes,” to this time in his life. He needed to be fully present and not continue in the discontent he was feeling. All he had was now in front of him, his family and being together making dinners, building forts and catching fireflies.

You can move from a victim to being a victor.

Once he accepted his circumstances, his eyes opened to what God was doing. He moved from being a victim to a victor. It was during this time of acceptance that the song, “The Glory I Couldn’t See,” was born.

As you look to God, read His Word and lean on the leading of His Holy Spirit, keep in mind He sees you and knows your needs. He is there with you. There are many things out of your control, like a pandemic, the behavior of others and the past. What you can control is your response to Him and to the circumstances in which you find yourself.

Today’s One Thing

Thank God for where He has you today. Ask Him to show you if there is anything in your control you need to do differently. Trust Him and take one step at a time.
