God Wants to Hear It!

You can cry out to God truthfully, and He meets you there in His faithfulness.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

– Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Scholars believe there is much evidence that Jeremiah wrote the book of Lamentations. In it, Jeremiah is crying out loudly, or lamenting, Jerusalem’s fall and the temple’s destruction after the Babylonians carried Israel away as captives. It was a devasting time.

As Jeremiah cried out to God, he was reminded of His faithfulness even amid such devastation. He recited God’s gracious and steadfast love and mercy. At the end of the book, he asked God to restore His people to Himself. That gave him hope.

Hope comes as you cry out to God and remember His love and compassion.

Have you ever cried out to God and then felt guilty for not having enough faith? God wants us to honestly express our feelings to Him. He already knows what sorrows or suffering you are going through.

God wants you to be honest with Him about what you are going through. He wants to hear what you know about His faithfulness and love for you.

Today’s One Thing

Talk to God today about your situation. Be honest about how you feel. Confess if needed. Then, recite what you know to be true about who He is, the faithful one who loves you and has the best plans.
