God’s Most Favorite Thing with Colton Dixon
Singer, songwriter and Christian musician, Colton Dixon shared with Family Life Radio his most favorite thing in the world is being a dad.
“He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’”
– Psalm 89:26 ESV
When Colton and his wife, Annie went to the doctor’s office hoping to learn the gender of their baby, they got a surprise. Colton said, “The technician looked like she was about to deliver the worst news.
She said, ‘I don’t know how to tell you this, but there are two of them in there.’”
Colton said, “I went from thinking no baby to two babies. I had to sit down. Annie was crying and laughing. All the emotions were happening in our heads, and it was such a beautiful moment.”
God’s favorite thing is being your Father.
Colton said it makes him reflect on his relationship with God, the Father. “When you become a dad, you just have a whole new perspective on that relationship. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my kids.”
God’s most favorite thing is being your Father. When you approach God from the perspective that He truly is for you, it can change the dynamics of your relationship with Him. It changes your outlook on your life.
How much more does God look after you than you care for your own kids? God would do whatever it takes for you – in fact, He already did. He gave His own Son, Jesus so that He could just have the opportunity for relationship with you!
Today’s One Thing
Take some time and think about God from the perspective of a person who loves you and would do anything for you. Now think about whatever challenge you are facing. Believe and trust that He is working everything for your good today, even if you don’t see it yet – simply because He is your Father!
