God’s Promises Confirmed

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

─ 2 Corinthians 1:20-22

Darin woke with a jolt, in response to his four-year-old son bouncing onto his bed early Saturday morning. “Hey buddy!” he said quietly as he tussled Caleb’s hair. “You’re up early.”

“We’re going to the park today! You promised,” Caleb chirped. “We’re going to feed the ducks.”

“Yes, yes, we are.” Darin replied. “But first, some breakfast,” he said sliding out of bed.

Darin had built an expectancy in his son – whatever he promised him, he delivered. He wanted Caleb to trust him, so that trust would easily transfer the expectation of always trusting His Heavenly Father.

Our Heavenly Father keeps every promise. He’ll never go back on His Word. Whatever He says He will do in His Word, we can believe it will become a reality. He is forever faithful.

People often fail us through broken promises or unfulfilled commitments, but God never fails us. His Word remains true throughout the ages. His promises are confirmed throughout scripture. As we look back on our lives, we can see the times He confirmed His promises. We can expect Him to always do what He says.
