God’s Timing and Providence

Trusting in God’s timing and providence is a crucial aspect of the Christian faith, and there is no better example than the significance of Easter. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate demonstration of God’s timing, providence and love for you.

He is not here; he has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.
– Matthew 28:6 NIV

The celebration of Easter reminds us that Jesus’ disciples were devastated and confused about Jesus’ final earthly days since He was the promised Messiah, the one who would deliver Israel from its oppressors and restore God’s kingdom. They had each cultivated a loving and respectable relationship with Jesus only to see Him arrested, tried and brutally executed.

Yet, this was not the end of the story. On the third day after his death, Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin and death, demonstrating God’s power and love for humanity. This event was the culmination of God’s plan for salvation, which had been in motion since the beginning of time. And this plan includes you today.

You are a part of God’s plan, and Jesus is the hope for your salvation and resurrection.

The resurrection of Christ is significant for several reasons:

  1. It demonstrates that God’s power and love are more substantial than death.
  2. It shows that Jesus is God’s Son and the promised Messiah.
  3. It offers hope and assurance to all who believe in Him that even in the midst of suffering and hardship, God is at work and His timing and providence are perfect.

Trust in God requires faith, patience and obedience. You must be willing to wait on the Lord and believe Him to work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). As you reflect on Easter, remember the significance of the resurrection and renew your faith in God’s power.

Today’s One Thing
Praise God for His providence and love. Pray: Father, I want to believe with my entire heart and mind that your timing and providence are perfect. Please help me to crave a life that you lead. Please fill me with the Spirit’s wisdom and passion for trusting in you. Please give me the courage to be still and pursue you. I love you, Father.
