He Calls the Stars by Name

Even though Ed Cash, from We the Kingdom contemporary Christian music band, has seen miracles in his life, he says, “I don’t need to see a miracle to believe that God is capable of them.”

Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of his might and because he is strong in power, not one is missing.

Have you ever stopped to consider the vastness and power of the universe around us? The very world we live in is one of God’s incredible miracles. From the tiniest atom to the farthest galaxy, there is incredible complexity and order in the world we live in. And yet, as amazing as this all is, we know that it is just a fraction of the power and might of God.

When you meditate on the power and might of God, you find renewed faith and trust in His ability to work in your life.

Isaiah 40:26 is just one of the many verses that serves as a reminder of the power of God! He is the one who created the stars and calls them by name. He is the one who holds the universe in the palm of His hand.

And yet, how often do we forget about this incredible power when we face challenges or difficulties in our lives? We may believe in God’s power intellectually, but we struggle to trust in it practically. We may wonder if God is capable of performing miracles in our lives, or if we are simply asking too much of Him.

But as we meditate on the power and might of God, we can find renewed faith and trust in His ability to work in our lives. We can remember that the same God who created the stars and calls them by name is the same God who loves us and cares for us intimately. Trust in His power and allow Him to work in your life in new and miraculous ways.

Today’s One Thing

Take a moment today to reflect on the power of God. Consider the complexity and order of the universe, and the fact that it is all sustained by His power. And as you do, remember that this same God is working in your life, capable of performing miracles beyond your understanding.
