Heard and Held

Have the demands of your day been relentless, leaving you feeling like you’re running on empty? Sometimes your heart can feel heavy with the complexities of work, parenting and just life in general. Pause for a moment and find solace in today’s verse – a promise from God.

The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord accepts my prayer. All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled; they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.

– Psalm 6:9-10 ESV

God hears you. He accepts your prayers. And those challenges that feel like relentless enemies? They don’t stand a chance against the God who is for you.

Consider the encouragement found in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (NIV). God’s got you, even when it feels like the world is against you.

God’s got you, even when it feels like the world is against you.

Pausing to pray can shift your focus from your problems to your Protector. It’s a moment to breathe, to invite God into your chaos and to remind yourself that He hears and accepts your prayers.

When you get back to the grind, you’ll do so with the assurance that you’re not doing it alone. You have a God who hears you, who is for you and who promises to put your “enemies” to shame.

Today’s One Thing

Pray: “Lord, I know You hear me. You’ve promised that You accept my prayers. Today, I’m feeling the weight of my responsibilities, the challenges that seem like enemies coming against me. But I agree with Your promise that these ‘enemies’ will be put to shame, that they’ll turn back. Give me the strength to face today, knowing that You’re with me. Amen.”
