He’s Got This

“This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.” – Psalm 18:30 

Meg struggled to make a decision, her emotions pulled in a dozen directions. She wanted to finish her degree, which would be great for her career, but it meant putting her son in daycare. Her husband supported her, but would have to work extras shifts to help balance the costs. To top it off, her aging father had been sick and needed her help, but had hesitated to tell anyone, not wanting to “be a bother.”

She felt God leading her toward the degree . . . but how could she be sure? And how could she handle all these other demands. Finally, in prayer, she and her husband found comfort in God’s promises. If they trusted Him and His path, He’d make it happen. They took their first steps in faith.

Trusting is never easy. We want to be independent and self-reliant. But the truth is when we seek our refuge and direction in God’s words, He will protect us and show us the way. We find Him in prayer, and we need to listen far more than we talk.
