It’s Time to Lean In

Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters, who brings forth chariot and horse, army and warrior; they lie down, they cannot rise, they are extinguished, quenched like a wick: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

─ Isaiah 43:16-19 ESV

We face opposition from the time we are born until we die. Whatever the competition, the challenge or the goal, the best way to succeed is to lean forward and be ready to face the opposition.

We don’t like them, but roadblocks and resistance are inevitable. How we respond to them reveals our character. Narrow and difficult times determine how long it takes us to get somewhere, but they don’t change our destination.

As a Christ follower, you are in a battle and can approach life in two ways. You can either lean in or lay back. Fear can keep you from being intentional in your life. Lean in against fear. When you poke at fear, it vanishes.

Isaiah’s word from the Lord in today’s Scripture is as vital to realize now as it was when he spoke it. The Mighty One of Israel wants you to look past the way things used to be because He’s doing something new. He wants you to pay attention and look closely. It’s important. He’s making a way for you, so look ahead.

You have a goal, a destiny worth pursuing. That goal drives you and it needs to be bigger than the roadblock. Sure, it’s easier to lay back and not lean in. But the goal is worth the risk. Your vision has to be bigger than resistance.

Lean into life by doing the next right one thing. The one thing God has placed in your life is bigger than any opposition. Are you willing to make the decision to lean in and look ahead?

Today’s One Thing

What does the next right ONE THING look like for you? Do you need to ask questions? Do you need to confront a problem, make a decision or take a step of faith? Whatever that is, DO IT TODAY, and see what God will do as you lean in.
