Jesus’ Words – Written for You

The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”

─ Luke 8:24-25 NIV

Jesus’ Words – Written for You

Imagine walking and talking with Jesus every day. You would have the opportunity to walk with Him, ask Him questions and witness miracles.

The days the disciples spent with Jesus looked like that. They experienced God in the flesh, a living, breathing example of our heavenly Father. They were no stranger to miracles, and yet when a storm came up quickly while they crossed the lake in a boat, they panicked. Fearing for their lives, they woke Jesus up from his peaceful sleep, shouting fearfully about their circumstances. “… we’re going to drown” (Luke 8:24-25).

Jesus asked them “Where’s your faith?”

If you believe the Bible, you know that you are not alone. Jesus is with you in the spirit. He is your advocate too. Jesus gave His life for you. He loves you with an everlasting love. You can believe what He says in His Word. The miracles, as well as the heartfelt conversations Jesus had with His disciples, are also for you. That’s why they are recorded.

So, when you struggle to believe, Jesus wants to see you stand firm. Your faith and confidence comes from your relationship with Him.

Today’s One Thing

What circumstance in our life today seems bigger than you can handle? Imagine Jesus asking you, “Where is your faith?” Pray and ask Jesus to show you where He is at work in your life concerning that situation even now. Watch for Him to show you this week.
