Joy Bringers

Think about the people who bring you joy. Why do they bring you joy? It’s very likely the reason is as individual as they are. Each relationship you have adds to or subtracts from your joy bucket.

We can never thank God enough for all the joy you give us as we rejoice in God’s presence. We pray very hard night and day that we may see you again so that we can supply whatever you still need for your faith.
─ 1 Thessalonians 3:9-10 GW

In the verses above, Paul is expressing his thanks to God and to those who bring him joy. He is celebrating those who have received salvation and come into the kingdom of God. Their presence gives him great joy knowing they have come to Christ.

Celebrate the joy bringers in your life.

It’s very important to celebrate the joy bringers in your life. A few ways to do that include:
Speak your appreciation to the individuals or the group who bring you joy.
Give them your time by putting them on your calendar.
When you’re with them, listen attentively to what they have to say.
Share good news or things that you enjoy with them (music, art, events).
Give them a gift – flowers, a handwritten card or a gift card to a place they like.

When someone shows love and appreciation, it fills us with joy. Spending time in God’s presence should give you great joy. He is where your joy comes from.
