Knowing You in Every Circumstance

In the intricacies of your life, every single element and encounter, from the tiniest thread to the boldest color and to the best relationships, serves a purpose. Some individuals associate these elements with the word “coincidence” instead of giving the Lord credit for His creation and design. Yes, even in the midst of trials and challenges, God’s guiding hand is intricately involved in every situation.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
– I Peter 5:10 NIV

Transitioning from one of life’s grand moments to a season filled with challenges can make it difficult to see God at work when opposition hits hard. Peter reminds us that suffering is temporary, but God’s grace is eternal and you become stronger when you experience trials. God not only promises restoration, but He also confirms, strengthens and establishes you through your difficulties. God knows you in every circumstance.

So, how can you recognize God’s work in difficult circumstances? Try shifting your perspective and be willing to see God’s craftsmanship surrounding the elephant in the room. See the obstacles and view them as opportunities for God to demonstrate His power. God doesn’t cause pain and agony, nor does He waste it; He uses it to shape you into a stronger, more resilient person.

God’s grace is enduring, and He restores, confirms, strengthens and establishes you.

Observing details and practicing gratitude during difficult times can be challenging. It may sound counterintuitive, but a heart filled with gratitude opens your eyes to the blessings surrounding the challenges. It’s a way of acknowledging that God is working, and calling out the challenges for what they are, even when you can’t see the full picture, but you are trusting God.

As you improve your perception and practice gratitude, seek also wisdom in the Word of God. The Bible is a treasure of His wisdom and promises. Tap into it daily, and you’ll discover God’s guidance and comfort in every circumstance. You’ll find strength to persevere, new resolutions to challenges and reassurance that God’s plan is perfect.

Difficult challenges can be excruciatingly painful. God knows you, and He desires to hear from you. Quietly or kicking and screaming, He loves you. Just talk to Him. Pray without ceasing. Share your joys, fears and struggles. Through prayer, you’ll sense God’s presence more acutely and discern His leading in your life.

God is with you. Pray through any difficulties you may be encountering and ask the Holy Spirit to help you refocus your attention on trusting God and asking for His guidance as you prepare to experience His grace, restoration and strength more profoundly than ever before.
