Live Today for Tomorrow

Can you actually do something now that will directly influence your future? Actually, every decision you make reflects who you are and affects your future life experiences. Right and biblical choices made today help you become a more mature and consistent Christ-follower later. Wrong and non-biblical decisions will result in reaping negative consequences later.

“Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”
─ Romans 5:5 NIV

God has plans for you. Here are four things He wants you to experience as His child and follower of Christ.

•Peace
Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1 NIV).

•Freedom
Through whom [Christ] we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:2 NIV).

•Purpose
We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope (Romans 5:3-4 NIV).

•Experience Hope
“Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us” (Romans 5:5 NIV).

Live today the way you are intended to become tomorrow.

Are you experiencing hope, freedom, peace and purpose in your life? If not, you’re missing out on all that God has for you. He loves you and He cares about you more than you can ever imagine. He desires for you to live today the way He intended you to become tomorrow.

You can have hope in Christ—in the gift of eternal life that only He can give. Your gift back to Him—as a way to thank Him—is to live an intentional life that is pleasing to Christ.

Today’s One Thing
Think about something you believe you should do that will affect your future in a way that will please God. What is keeping you from moving forward? Make a decision today and set a plan in motion by taking first steps this week.
