Never Separated from His Love
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?”
─ Romans 8:35
Sabrina’s eyes never left her son Carson as she watched him every step of the way, until he disappeared into the left wing of the elementary school for his first day of second grade. She turned to walk back to her car, catching a glimpse of the many parents letting go of their little ones, some for the first time. She saw lots of tears in the eyes of parents, brave faces and emotional breakdowns from some of the tiniest children.
She reflected on her son’s very first day of school just three short years ago. Carson, a social butterfly, could hardly wait to start school. After a few tears those first few days of kindergarten, he adjusted well and accepted the short separation from home and family. Each year it was easier for the both of them. Carson knew those who loved him most would be there for him when school was out.
Sabrina reached her car and slid into the driver seat. She paused for a moment and began to pray. “God you never leave me. You are constantly with me. I never have to be separated from your love. Your presence goes with me. You are always here for me,” she smiled, as she started her car.
As God’s children, we never have to experience separation anxiety. We have hope knowing God is with us, always. His presence goes with us, and we are never separated from His love.
Today’s One Thing
Do you know someone who often feels alone? Take a moment to share how God is always with them, and how they can never be separated from His love.
