Pray Honestly

Friends and family members are incredibly observant of the things they want or need at Christmastime. If you plan to purchase a gift for someone, you want to buy something distinct, desired or needed so your special someone will enjoy the gift you give them.

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
– Hebrews 13:16 ESV

The beautiful and miraculous attributes God possesses is that He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (present in all places), omnipotent (all-powerful) and omnibenevolent (supremely gracious). He is not seasonal, and He loves you every second of every day, not just in December. He loves you so much He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to become the sacrifice and Savior, so you can have genuine communion with Him.

The gift of His Son is your distinct, desired and needed gift. And the condition of your heart makes all the difference. You can’t hide anything from Him. While He is all-knowing and all-powerful, He desires a relationship with you where you trust Him enough to be honest and share from your heart. He knows what you need and when you need it before you pray. While He knows all, He is interested to hear your voice, what you want to share and what your concerns are.

The Heavenly Father has the best listening ear, and He wants to hear from you about the things that make you happy or sad.

Open your heart and be transparent with your Father. He has given you the best gift, His Son, and He wants a deeper relationship with you.

Building a bolder and stronger relationship with Him is the best thing you can actively accomplish. He loves and desires you.

Today’s One Thing
Find a place where you are comfortable and alone and relaxed. Begin to talk to the Father outwardly as though He is your best friend. He is listening to every word you are saying. Ask the Spirit to bring to your mind items to share. Look forward to your deeper relationship with God.
