Run to the Rock

God is ever present in your struggles. In a time where the world seems to be changing on a daily basis, the simple, unchanging truth of God as your salvation is a comfort and strength.

Be my mighty rock, the place where I can always run for protection. Save me by your command! You are my mighty rock and my fortress.

─ Psalm 71:3 CEV

When you have that personal relationship with God, He indeed is with you and with open arms provides Himself as a safe refuge, a sturdy foundation. One that will never falter.

No matter what you are facing, God is your rock and fortress—your refuge.

Much like today, the psalms of the Old Testament are filled with struggles. The writers faced weariness, danger and enemies on every side, yet Psalm 71:3 declares: “Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress” (ESV).

No matter what you are facing, God is your rock and fortress—your refuge. And when you seek Him, you will find a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Settle in your heart today that He is your sure and unwavering hope, then you will be able to walk in the peace that comes with knowing God as your refuge.

Today’s One Thing

Go to the Rock of your salvation today and sit quietly in His presence. Ask Him to show you His salvation and cover you in His peace today. Close your eyes for five minutes. Set a timer and expect His calm assurance to settle in you.
