The Secret to Dressing in God’s Armor

Do you like secrets, not harmful but beautiful and special secrets? What about tasty secrets? You know, just like a special ingredient that makes a delectable treat burst in your mouth with irresistible flavor. What about the wisp of knowledge you enjoy learning about secret menu items offered at specific food venues? Knowing is refreshing.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
─ Ephesians 6:11 NIV

Naturally, some secrets are meant to be kept silent, while other secrets are informative and not exclusive but simply not known by others. The key to receiving either of these two categories of secrets is your trustworthiness and desire to know.

Putting on the whole armor of God is not a secret. But the key to dressing yourself in God’s whole armor may not be known to all. It simply requires a desire to know. It’s a way of trust that Christ followers should know. The Bible shares that you should pray in the Spirit on all occasions making your requests known to the Lord.

The Armor of God awaits you.

Prayer is the key to unlocking your readiness to wear God’s armor of protection for spiritual battle. Are you ready to engage in the secret for your protection? Pray for strength and wisdom to:

1. Hold the Shield of Faith.
2. Gird yourself with Truth.
3. Wield the Sword of the Spirit with precision.
4. Wear the Breastplate of Righteousness honorably.
5. Walk in peace.
6. Share the Gospel of Peace.
7. Wear the Helmet of Salvation to secure your understanding of what Christ did for you.

The Armor of God awaits you. The key is asking the Lord for His help in fully understanding the power and authority He has given you to wear His armor.
