Use Your Tools – Truth and Power

Whether you are building, crafting, baking, racing, hiking or other activities, having the right tools and equipment help execute and complete the job. Pursuing an activity or project without suitable instruments can be challenging, if not nearly impossible.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
─ Hebrews 4:12 ESV

In Genesis 3, we learn the instrument used by Satan to create havoc and disruption is the tool of lying. He continues to use this evil weapon today. How often have you entertained thoughts that were not truthful or heard words from an acquaintance or colleague that were not accurate?

Some of these incidents can be played off as little white lies, while some are painful and wrong. The enemy enjoys the mayhem that occurs in your peaceful life. Destroying or interrupting your mental well-being is part of the enemy’s plan.

You have a powerful weapon against the enemy – God’s Word.

God’s Word is the tool you need to fight and be victorious over the enemy’s plans. God’s Word is the Truth, and the Truth will defeat the enemy every time. Like a surgical instrument placed on a surgical tray ready to be used by the surgeon, God’s Word is available and ready for your use. You must pick it up, read or listen to it, and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

The beauty of His Word is that it is living and active, trustworthy and ready for battle.  The Bible is prepared for you to use against the enemy as the pristine instrument and perfect weapon against any enemy’s plans.

Today’s One Thing

Read or listen to Ephesians 6:10-20 and commit to memory verses 10 and 11. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you become God’s child, and He gives you the primary instrument to use against the enemy’s plans. Pick up His word and use it for your life.
