What Are the Heavens Revealing?

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork. Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night shows forth knowledge. There is no speech nor spoken word [from the stars]; their voice is not heard. Yet their voice [in evidence] goes out through all the earth, their sayings to the end of the world.

Fantastic displays of God’s creativity and craftsmanship surround you. He is an artist, an architect, a designer and creator. Evidence of His love, His power and His care for you is demonstrated from the highest heavens to the deepest places in the earth. And through His creation, God is constantly revealing Himself to you.

The first part of Psalm 19 speaks of how God is constantly revealing who He is to you through the splendor and majesty of His creation. Our specific verse today tells us the heavens are speaking to us about the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

Today’s One Thing

Find some time in the next few days to step out into nature. Take a walk or a hike in a place that brings you peace. As you look at God’s handiwork in nature and in the heavens, listen quietly and observe what He wants you to hear. What does He want to reveal to you today?
