Arizona Christian Arts Ministries/Arizona Christian Theater presents Lloyd C. Douglas’ “The Robe” adapted by John McGreevey.
Marcellus, a young Roman officer, has been exiled, and in Jerusalem it has become his duty to crucify a Galilean. Although he believes the man innocent, he obeys. Tossing dice for the simple homespun robe which the Galilean wore, he wins and gives it into the charge of his faithful Greek slave. From that moment on he becomes a desperately troubled man, so that even through permitted to return to Rome, where his family and the girl he loves await, he is restless, obsessed with the thoughts of the Galilean and his guilt. In a stunning finale he comes to terms with himself and the Galilean.
