See What He Can Do with Them
Brooke Ligertwood, platinum recording artist and Grammy-award-winning songwriter shared in a recent interview with Family Life Radio, “The Lord is so faithful to do what He does with our bread and our fish, but there are conditions with it, in that we have to hand [what we have] over [to Him]. And we have to allow Him to break it and be the one to multiply because He’s the only person who can feed all those people.”
Brooke’s message of how God can take our small offerings and turn them into something extraordinary echoes the biblical account of Jesus feeding the 5,000 with just five loaves and two fish (Matthew 14:13-21).
“We have to allow him to break it and be the One to multiply because He’s the only person who can feed all those people,” Brooke continued.
Just as the disciples trusted Jesus with their small offering, you can trust God with your talents and resources, knowing that He can multiply them for His glory.
“I received like, every other believer, the Great Commission, and that is to go and make disciples of all nations.” Brooke refers to Matthew 28:19-20, where He commissions all believers to make disciples.
She says, “Your calling is – I think – one of the most widely misunderstood things in the church because we can have specific callings and assignments for different seasons, but the calling of every believer is actually the same – to go and make disciples. And whether we’re an elementary school teacher, a songwriter, a doctor or a janitor, each of us called to obey the Lord and follow Him in the circumstances that He placed us.”
God knows exactly where you are and has placed you there for a reason.
Our faith is not just for Sundays; it’s meant to be lived out in our daily interactions, decisions, and relationships. Colossians 3:17 urges us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
