If You Could Turn Back Time

Jordan Feliz on Rewinding Time

In a heartfelt conversation with Family Life Radio, Jordan Feliz asked which would he choose: to pause or rewind life. “Oh, my gosh. Probably a rewind button. Rewind. Yeah,” he mused, reflecting on the desire to relive precious moments with his children and to amend past actions with the wisdom of hindsight.

His words strike a chord, reminding us of the fleeting nature of time and the yearning for grace to navigate our missteps.

Cherishing Life’s Moments

Jordan’s longing to witness his children’s early years again is a poignant reminder to cherish the present. “I’d love to just be able to go back and like, you know, I don’t know, just see them, you know, a couple more times when they’re smaller,” he shared.

James 4:14 reminds you to pause, observe, and appreciate the now. “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (NKJV).

Learning from Our Mistakes

Beyond nostalgia, Jordan’s wish for a rewind button speaks to a deeper desire: the chance to redo moments and respond more Christlike in various situations. “Probably just say things differently, you know, or, posture yourself differently in the way you’re acting or seeing things,” he contemplated.

It’s a candid admission of human frailty and the challenges of while striving to live intentionally in Christ while navigating life’s trials. (See Romans 12:2.)

Jordan’s insight highlights the ongoing battle between our human nature and the spiritual growth we pursue.

It’s a daily commitment to choose patience over frustration, kindness over indifference, and humility over pride.

His words serve as a gentle reminder that while perfection remains out of reach, the journey of becoming more like Jesus is filled with grace and opportunities for redemption.

Looking back can be a tool for learning, allowing you to apply the lessons of yesterday to today’s walk with Christ. It’s about using our past, not as a dwelling place of regret, but as a classroom where wisdom and grace abound. Incorporating daily self-examination, seeking forgiveness and extending grace to others are practical steps you can take on this journey.

While we may yearn for a chance to revisit the past, our focus should be on living fully in the present and striving towards a future marked by faithfulness and Christlike love.

As you navigate the complexities of life, remember: each day is a new opportunity to choose Jesus, to cherish each moment, and to grow in grace. Let the wisdom gleaned from past experiences illuminate your path, guiding you to live a life that gloriously reflects the love and peace of Christ.
