Joy Amid the Struggle with Mercy Me

With God by your side, you can live with joy.

The joy of the Lord is your strength.

During a concert break, a woman from the audience approached Mike Scheuchzer, one of the members of MercyMe. Her name was Miss Amy. She confirmed the importance of the message of their music. Living in much pain from fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis kept her in bed for days.

When she reached the point of not wanting to live anymore, she got into her car. The song, “I Can Only Imagine,” came on the radio. As she listened, Miss Amy sensed God sitting beside her telling her that her life was not hers to take, but that it was His.

Your life belongs to God, your creator.

Miss Amy still wakes up in pain most days. The last time Mike saw her, she was using a walker, but she beams with joy knowing God is with her.

Do you have that assurance? God, who delights in you, is by your side walking with you through all the rocky roads you must travel. He sometimes carries you, but He will never leave you.

Hang on tightly to God’s hand and choose joy amid the challenges, knowing He is with you, He is strong and more than able to help you through.
