Embrace the Wait

In the quiet moments of waiting, where the hustle of life slows and the future seems wrapped in uncertainty, you might find yourself questioning the purpose behind the pause. Blessing Offor, in his heartfelt conversation with Family Life Radio, says, “I’ve never waited for no reason before.”

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

  Lamentations 3:25 ESV

Consider the story of Joseph, found in Genesis. His life was a series of waits – from the pit to Potiphar’s house, then to prison and finally to the palace. Each wait was purposeful, shaping Joseph for the role he was destined to play. In Genesis 50:20, Joseph says to his brothers, “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (ESV).

When you’re tempted to despair, remember your periods of waiting are not without purpose. They are intricately woven into God’s plan for your life, meant to prepare you, strengthen you and position you for the good that is to come.

You can find purpose behind every pause.

Waiting is a process of growth, a time when your faith can be stretched and strengthened. Your trust in God during these waiting times paves the way for His guidance and blessings as you embrace the wait.

As you navigate through your season of waiting, remember that it’s a journey of faith, a time to deepen your reliance on God. In the pause, you can experience His enduring peace and gain strength in the process.

Today’s One Thing

Prayer: “Lord, in my moments of waiting, help me to see Your hand at work. Teach me to trust in Your timing and Your perfect plan for my life. Waiting is not easy, but I believe that You are molding me, preparing me for the future You have in store. Grant me the patience to wait with grace, the strength to endure with faith and the wisdom to learn from this season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
