He Holds You Together

The One who created you holds you together as you surrender to Him.

He [Jesus] is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

– Colossians 1:17 ESV

The idea that Jesus holds all things together provides a profound sense of hope and stability. Jesus was with God from the creation of the world when God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Genesis 1:26 ESV). John tells us in John 1:1 that the Word (Jesus) was with God in the beginning. “All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:3 ESV).

In Christ, you have all you need. Since He is responsible for all that is created and He holds it all together, even you.

When you feel like you’re falling apart, He holds you together.

A daily practice of surrender keeps you in God’s perfect peace. In the midst of life’s challenges, pause and acknowledge Jesus and remember that all things were made through Him. He has the answers. He knows all about what makes you tick, and what you need.

Take a moment to consciously release any control you may have been trying to hang on to.

Trust in Jesus’ ability to hold all things together, even you. Such a simple yet profound act of surrender can usher in a sense of hope and assurance, allowing you to experience the transformative power of relying on Jesus as your sustainer.

A prayer you can pray: “Lord, I surrender all that I have been clinging to and attempting to control. I trust Your plans and purposes. Thank You for being pleased to use me. I look to You and Your Word for the answers I need. Amen.”
