What Would the Father Think? with Josh Baldwin

Jesus said He could do nothing on His own because His heart exploded with a deep desire to do ONLY the will of the Heavenly Father. He loved God so much that He desired more than anything to please Him.

“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”

– John 5:30 ESV

Songwriter and worship leader, Josh Baldwin says he and his father have always been very close. When making a decision or weighing an action to take, he’d ask himself, “What would my dad think if I did this?” His experience of having a great father has given him a healthy view of who the Lord is.

You please the Father when your will aligns with His.

The desire to please an earthly father can be strong, especially for a child. How much more so then should you, as a child of God, desire to please your Heavenly Father? And Josh Baldwin’s question is a great clarifier to use when it comes to deciding if your course of action, your words or thoughts please God, the ultimate Father.

You will always please the Father when your will aligns with His. And the best way to do that is to ask what the Father thinks. You can find answers to His will in Scripture.
