Girl Born with No Hands Wins Handwriting Competition!
This 10-year-old girl was born with no hands
and she just won a national handwriting competition.
This young lady is pretty incredible! Sara Hinesley from Frederick, Maryland was born without hands, but she didn’t let that stop her from practicing her cursive writing! In fact, with lots of training, she even won a national handwriting competition! Her determination really impressed and inspired me!
She said that “I think it’s sometimes easy and sometimes kind of hard, but I tried my hardest”. I don’t know about you, but I want to be a lot more like Sara!
It kind of reminds me of how we get sometimes when we are faced with a challenge and think that we can’t do it because of “that one problem” we have. We start to focus on the problem and not God after a while, right? Almost like when Jesus called Peter out to walk beside Him on the water. It says in Matthew 14 that when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid and he began to sink. Then, Jesus said “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” It’s a powerful message because it reminds us that all we have to do is have faith in God and He takes care of the rest. That’s something I have to be reminded of daily.
The truth is this: you’re going to have struggles in life. It’s sad, but true. The question is are you going to walk away from them or let God take this and move forward? Sara didn’t let the fact she didn’t have hands get to her. She moved on with determination! Good job Sara!!
I hope that encourages you today!
